Of being kind

To live in the moment is to take it as it comes. It matters not what you were doing, merely that you are aware of it.

Being kind is something’s that very in the moment. It’s not something you can fake. It spurs you to act on the spur of the moment, with only the briefest of thoughts. The best acts, the ones that live on in my mind, are those where spontaneity is an integral component.

Being kind is not hard to do. It can be as simple as a smile from one person to another. A sincere smile from the heart. It can be as simple as sitting down with a small child as you wait for their parents. It can be as easy as listening to someone’s voice. It is as simple as acknowledging the tiredness of another human being, and spending a few extra minutes listening to them.

It can be as large as spending nights looking after the one you love, or even a stranger’s child, simply because you were there. It’s as simple sitting down with an injured cat. It is as large as rescuing dogs from a fate worse than death.

Kindness is motivated by love. Love for life. For everything that’s good in the world.

Let us be kind to each other.
