Letter from self:

Dear self

That was awesome. Right after you said that you wouldn’t take Chinese tea for dinner anymore you go ahead and do so. Then you end up not sleeping the entire night. 3 hours’ sleep does not a night make. If you manage to land that job I’ll be quite surprised. You also decided to go and drink NESCAFE to help you sleep. Well, congratulations. We’ve finished watching Durarara!!! and I know that you’re quite hyper right now but yes I see Hypnos coming soon. GO. TO. BED.

Love
Your Reality Self

Dear Writer

As mentioned, Durarara’s background music will do quite well for this year’s Nano. Please don’t forget to upload Angela Aki’s Life as well. You may want to listen to it carefully. Hmm… based on what we have planned this year, the theme will be dawn. Which includes Mouhitotsu no yoake and Heart of Sword. And we have the perfect ending for you too.

She awoke alone. The rain fell heavily, drenching her instantly. Slowly, she pushed herself up from the mud. She was alone. Out of habit, she looked down at her wrist. Then at both of them. On her right hand was a single gold bangle, while on her left was a golden charm bracelet. With a secret smile, she got to her feet, and began to walk.

The end.

Love
Your Muses

PS: Don’t forget the opening and ending songs of FMA Brotherhood too!

Dear child

This is a note from your adult muse. GO. TO. SLEEP. NOW. Or no more DS for you.

No love
Angie

I have learnt:

  • My own worst enemy is myself.
There is really nothing else to be said but that. All the mistakes that I’ve made over the past few days were my own, and I know I can do better. Giving up is not in my nature. It’s seeped in, yes, but I’ll be damned if I allow myself to give up. The whining stops now. It’s time to KATN!
  • This is an opportunity I will NOT waste.
Seriously, a lot of people dream but very few actually take those steps to make those dreams a reality. I’ve been planning this for years, and if I give up now, when it’s so close what kind of a person am I? While I may lost faith in myself, others have not. I’d be a poor friend and giving those I care about a bad example if I give up so close to the finish line.
  • I have a brain, I shall use it!
I know what I’ve done wrong, and how I’ve been taking everything for granted. Now I’ll translate that into my work. I used to be damned proud of what I did; it’s time to spark that piece of professionalism again. Money be damned, I’ve got my pride to keep me full.
  • Body aches
Either my body’s getting a tonne of exercise from all that stairs, or I’ve been pushing too hard. Time to see a doc!
  • I. WILL. NOT. GIVE. UP.

Edit: I resigned anyway, since they had already put the resignation process into motion. I agree, that was the most stupid thing I’ve done, and it’s a mistake I do not intend to repeat again.

Quick thoughts

April is…

Shaping up to be a good month.

The month I started writing for fun. Again.

The month a certain pairing/fandom has taken over my life. Believe it or not, this is mentally healthy for me.

Car repairs month, hence another broke month.

The month I take a breather and get back into shape. In every possible way.

Where my Script Frenzy has been broken into 5 cases: Turnabout Lemonade, Turnabout Fair Play, Turnabout Deviate, Turnabout Mystic, and Turnabout Genius.

Brief update

Tech update this week:

Office 2010 on Windows 7
Seriously beautiful piece of work. It’s not nearly enough to get me to buy Office 2010 when it comes out, but for now the free beta is awesome enough that I want to keep using it.

Google Buzz is fun
Now, to figure out how to set all my Buzzes to private by default.

Sansa is now Mort
He started out by being a girl, then somehow Ian convinced me that Sansa was actually a boy. That meant his name had to be a guy’s because calling someone Sasa (muscular in Malay) didn’t quite gel with me. In the end I sought inspiration from Neil Gaiman’s Sandman and called him Morpheus. His nickname is Mort. Yes I do love Terry Pratchett too why do you ask? :3

New netbook wanted
Author’s note: Argh, sorry, I didn’t realise only half the section got posted. >>
I want a new netbook simply because of the battery life. Shiki’s been very tsundere since I named him such, and his battery life has been going downhill. It’s quite disconcerting, really. :S Am wondering what other netbooks I can get at below RM1000. Anyone has ideas?

Dear self

Admit to yourself that your writing sucks. I don’t know how we went down this road, but stop trying to be lofty. Your words are beginning to confuse even me. We have a goal. We have a destination. We know we’re going to take detours. There’s no need for the kitchen sink. Your thoughts can be distilled. Let’s do that.

If it makes you feel uncomfortable, admit that it does. Take time to formulate your replies, please. You’re mature and have the brains to make your points in a clear, concise manner without being defensive. And yes, if confused, always good to step back and reaffirm the point of discussion.

Take ownership of your words. You did it once, keep it in sight. All this dumbness start coming up when you release your hold on your words. Own up.

On another note, yes we’re awesome. No one does things like we do. Becoming complacent and drifting away in our own little world is not the way to tell people we’re awesome though. That shows in our writing, in the way we act, in the way we carry ourselves and others.

So buck up self. The ride’s just beginning.

Love
Me

Random observations about life:

1. Current eyeshadow that Mom gave me will set better after wiping them with wet tissues. Odd but true. Ok, it turns out that most makeup will set with water.

2. Got my certs yesterday. Now wondering what to do.

3. Clients will always try to make you cry. And stay overnight. And work you like dogs. But there are other clients who’ll remember to say, “Well done, and thank you so much! I know you guys stayed up nights to do this.” Those are the keepers.

4. Having this picture on my desktop does wonder for my mood.

5. Spent 2 years here. I love the people here. Will treasure the memories and the experiences gained. Wondering if I should go, or should I stay?

6. Nanowrimo!!!! Nuff said.

6a. As a continuation, yesterday was musing on the nature of Knuko and Aiureelian. I think I’ve just done a cop-out. The explanation of Aiureelian’s divinity is very… *facepalms*

Now back to work.

The best friends:

1. Are those who enjoy your company for the sake of your company, and who accept you for being who you are.

2. Are those you can call up at 3am in the morning on the other side of the world to listen to them/you rant about what’s happening in your life.

3. Are not afraid to tell you when you’re being silly.

4. Are ones who make the effort to understand your point instead of agreeing silently.

5. Are the ones you can discuss about how personal or impersonal it is to kill your enemies with a gun or a sword between science fiction and fantasy games (I still think magic beats science in that respect, Edrei!).

6. Are the ones who’ll be the first to wish you Happy Birthday on your birthday, and the last before you sleep (you know who you are, dear uke).

7. Are the ones who aren’t afraid to ask you your opinion of them, and completely accepting of your answer.

8. Are ones who’ll stay back late during setup to make sure there’s enough event bags for the next day. And they work for free! (thank you so much guys! I lub you!)

9. Are the ones who give you hugs each time you meet… and aren’t afraid to hold your hands if you’re frightened.

10. Are the many people I’ve met and cannot name; because you’ve all left touches in my heart.

Thank you for being my friend. :)

Quick Notes

You know the company you’re in loves games when even those who don’t own a DS and isn’t quite into the gaming scene can identify a Cooking Mama game based on just the description and without any of the words usually associated with it.

Am testing out the new Nuffnang XChange widget, which isn’t really a widget per say but more like a floating Flash widget. Please visit the site and let me know how you guys feel about it.

You know when you’ve been gaming too much when an innocent abbreviation like Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corp (PIDM) immediately translates to PDM (Paradigm).

You know that you’re addicted when you can’t stop watching politics like a bad Chinese serial. It’s traumatising yet you keep watching and hoping for the happy ending.

And hope lies not in putting our fates in the hands of politicians but by rising up and taking our fates into our own. Civil disobedience may seem like a risky thing for most people, but as Chin Huat so clearly puts it:

So, how did a simple campaign of civil disobedience that only required its supporters to wear black drown out Najib’s million-ringgit soundbites?

The answer perhaps lies in the campaign’s three features: non-violence, simplicity and minimalism.

And this was just sent to me by a friend: Stray dogs being shot in Tanjung Bunga. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO OUR COMPASSION? I thoughts such strays were to be put down to sleep, not killed outright.

The end times are coming? You bet, considering that humans seem to have lost all compassion, humanity and sense!
