There is something to be said for the spiritual. I’ve always been fascinated by it. I cannot see, nor touch, the spiritual world, but they exist. I find it appealing to think that there is a world beyond me that lives side by side what I do. It is that belief that there are some things that cannot be explained and understood.

Something magical, I suppose.

Magic has always fascinated me. It is, I suppose, the main reason why I find myself enamoured of watching magic shows and listening to stories of magic. However, I draw the line at actually demystifying it. There’s a certain part that’s lost when the magic is explained, the curtain is pulled back, and you see how it happens.

I suppose it is one of the reasons why I make such a good companion for my mother when it comes to Feng Shui stuff. There is the magical, of learning about energy and controlling the flow of it. There is the mundane, of learning how to harness it for your own purposes, and there is the fascination with what Fate has spoken about you when you decipher the meaning of the time you were born.

The last though, is the most wonderful of all. I am of the view that Fate, or whoever arranged the time and date of our birth possibly did it to give the individual the best possible start to their life, but you can never know what a person is thinking about. Yet reading a person’s birth chart gives you only the barest information about them; enough, perhaps, to encourage the reader to learn more about the person. So you’d have to actually talk to the person in question to learn more about them.

That’s perhaps the most important magic of all.

PS: Yes, I spent this Sunday at a Feng Shui talk. This time it was Joey Yap’s.

Gemini 2007

When I saw a seller offering Gemini on the BPAL forums recently, I knew I had to have one. There are two versions of the scent, but the description that sold me was this. I don’t do too well with musk perfumes; they tend to be quite powdery on me after a few hours and smell all the same to me.

Food-based perfumes on the other hand, are delightful to my nose. So after reading the description I thought I should give Gemini ago. The one I received was the original one, I believe. This contains lavender, lemon, lemongrass, orange, mint and sweet pea. I’m not sure if this was a decant (which means it was taken from a bottle and subsequently put into smaller vials to be shared among others) or if this was an imp.

What I can tell you is that it’s aged. The oil is possibly 8 years old now, and upon opening I get a strong whiff of lemongrass. But this is a different kind of lemongrass. I can’t quite distinguish the other scents, but this lemongrass feels comfy. It brings back childhood memories of sitting in a corner playing by myself while grandma cooked, back in the days of innocence.

Can’t wait to try it on tomorrow!

The results weren’t bad, though I’m going to cook rice in them tomorrow. :P

Sam Kan Cheong

The name reads, for those who don’t know Chinese, as as What’s the Rush? Alternatively it could also read as Why the Rush. :D As it’s a noodle house, this makes perfect sense. XD

My cousins and nephews playing Angry Birds on dad’s phone. And yes, my cousin on the far right is digging his nose. XD He’s such an adorable kid now. :P

A clear, bright sky

A clear bright sky with a warm sun in the morning…

Usually means really hot weather during the day.

Waiting waiting waiting for my passport

The actual time it took to gather and process my passport was actually less than 15 minutes (this includes the time it took me to walk outside to get my picture taken, photo copy my IC and get back in queue), but I spent the greater part of slightly under 2 hours waiting to get my passport.

In the end?

I’m going back tomorrow. Bleh.
